Fiesta del Sol

Visual & Typographic Design

Fiesta del Sol is an annual summer event hosted by the Pilsen Neighbors Community Council, which is a nonprofit organization that provides resources to low-income families in the Pilsen neighborhood. Fiesta del Sol provides live entertainment, food, art exhibitions, a children’s play area, food vendors, workshops, and a carnival. I designed a poster for the event that featured the activities, dates, and location. The client wanted a summer theme. I created an icon of the sun shining upon an illustration of a neighborhood. The body copy contains all of the important information of the event. I decided to use a typeface that was bold and noticeable. I used a color palette that was indicative of summer. Once the poster was complete, the client approved of the design and distributed them throughout the neighborhood.

Final Design
